Media: Watercolour with gouache and gum Arabic on one sheet of paper being 6 foot wide

Conservation:

• Project was “sight unseen” until it arrived

• Size of watercolour measurements: 63 x 186.5cm

• Pasted to a board as well as being heavily discoloured

• Backing was mechanically removed

• Removing the discolouration was via blotter washes followed by rinsing and bleaching on a vacuum table

• Retouched the gum Arabic which lessened during the rinsing.
